Three Men Rescued After SOS Sand Sign Found

Three men missing for nearly three days were rescued on Pikelot Island after authorities spotted a giant SOS sign in the sand from aircraft. They had left Pulawat atoll in a 23 foot boat on July 30 intending to reach Pulap atoll, but ran out of fuel and drifted. The Canberra and U S search teams joined the Guam effort, locating them about 118 miles from their starting point.
