Venice Council appoints Howard Stemm to planning seat
Mayor Frank Proctor won approval from the Venice City Council for appointing Howard J. Stemm to the Planning Commission left vacant by William Schmelzer's death on Sept. 18. The 6-1 vote followed debate over the mayor's nomination and calls for new blood in city government.
