Venice resident protests street closure and city decision

Barbara Siede objects to the 1979 April action and the August 1980 closure of Sarasota Street between Nassau and Harbor Drive. Epiphany Catholic Church won street use with city retained rights and maintenance standards to be kept by the church. Liability insurance responsibilities were assigned to the church as part of the agreement.

Santa to Visit Woolco Venice Friday Morning

Santa Claus will arrive Friday at the Woolco shopping center in Venice to meet shoppers and collect Christmas lists. If no snow delays him he will trade his sleigh for a fire truck with a festive jingle. Police and deputies will escort him and Mrs Claus may appear. The first 500 youngsters get free hot dogs and soda, with free candy for all.
