Arson Suspected in Venice Capri Isles Fires
Two brush fires in the Capri Isles subdivision of Venice were extinguished. The Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department ruled arson the probable cause. The smaller blaze, about 1.5 acres, started around 7 a.m., while the larger one, about 40 acres, began at 2:30 p.m. and burned near Capri Isles Boulevard. Firefighters fought the two flames for roughly 2.5 hours.
