The Sarasota County Charter Review Board approved final amendments to Article II increasing commissioners to seven and requiring district elections with two years county residency and one year in the district. Only Bob Beaumont opposed, citing mixed support for provisions. The board did not decide if ballot items will be separate or grouped.

FDOT opens Venice office to oversee I-75 work

Sarasota moratorium on rezoning called meaningless by chair
Andrew Sandegren, chairman of the Sarasota County Commission, says the six month rezoning moratorium to ease water problems is a meaningless exercise after over two months with no solutions.
