Venice Council delays Esplanade Extension amid erosion
Venice City Council postponed the Esplanade Extension project between Castile Street and Granada Avenue to 1981-82 after a motion failed. Erosion washed out a 200 foot right of way segment during a recent storm. The meeting also reviewed a $412.98 three month water bill at an empty residence with no leaks found and 17 cases of unexplained high usage. The council approved switching to a new computer system for state mandated accounting starting Oct 1, a 225 dollar monthly increase, and noted a cost savings in labor and faster balance sheets.
