Runaway sports car sinks in lake near Venice. owner ok

A driverless car rolled from a parking lot into a lake in South Venice at 10 a.m. Monday, sinking 15 to 25 feet. Donna J. Hamm, 23, of Nokomis, was at the courthouse annex paying a $25 fine. A diver retrieved the bumper cable as alligators surfaced nearby. Hamm faced no charges.

Admitted to jail after violence at Venice Hospital

A 19 year old Nokomis man John Lamon Hall was arrested for disorderly intoxication after he disrupted treatment at Venice Hospital and forced cardiac patients to move floors. He resisted officers, was treated for hand lacerations, and admitted to jail.
