Jump Rope for Heart Event at Venice Elementary
Venice Elementary hosts Jump Rope for Heart on Tuesday March 24 from 2 30 to 5 30 p m to promote fitness. Florida AFHPER and national Heart Association co sponsor with proceeds to aid the American Heart Association. Teams of six jumpers rotate to keep pace and pledge kits enable sponsorships. Each participant earns a Heart Association certificate and top winners receive a warm up suit windbreaker prizes. Community is invited to attend and support.

A. H. Lahndt was chosen as president of the Lemon Bay Veterans Club at its quarterly meeting for American Legion Post 276 and its auxiliary. New officers include Fred Clements as vice president and Mrs. R. C. Borchers as secretary among a larger board lineup.

Pi Omicron sorority forms Florida charter with national president
In spring 1980 six northern chapters formed a Florida chapter of Pi Omicron National Sorority Inc. The charter will be presented by national president Mrs. Max Barker at a March 27 luncheon at the Attic. The sorority, started in 1928, includes Lambda Chapter in Detroit and has since expanded coast to coast with state and district groups and a biennial national convention.
