AARP Meeting to Feature Don Lais on Medic Program
Don Lais will be the guest speaker at the AARP meeting on March 18 at the North Port Yacht Club. Doors open 1 pm, program at 1 30 pm, with refreshments afterwards. He will explain what hospitals need to know about you in emergencies.

City to adopt plan as ordinance aims for formal approval
North Port Mayor Margaret Gentle says the comprehensive plan will advance to an ordinance. Commissioner Norvin Rothschild announced a March 29 Lifesaving Course at the North Port pool from 4 30 to 6 00 p m Monday through Thursday with a 10 dollar pool fee and 6 50 for materials for lifeguards over 16. Registration ends March 25 by calling 426 1201 or at the pool. Fees payable at the first class. Handicapped swimming sessions available by calling city hall. Rothschild invites interest for a handicapped session if enough sign up. Volunteers are needed for a proposed summer recreation program. For more, call 426 1201. The Jewish War Veterans Venice North Port Post 172 will meet March 22 at 7 30 p m in the First Federal Savings and Loan Association community room in North Port Village Shopping Center.
