After City Council agreed to appeal a court ruling in the Venice Lindh lawsuit, City Manager Dale Rieth got a brown bag labeled Warning very sour. Inside were green grapes and attorney Charles J. Cheves's card, a remark Rieth described as Cheves signaling the city’s appeal. Rieth joked Cheves is flaky and joked the gift should have been cereal.
