Woman found dead in her home from possible self-inflicted gunshot
Sarasota County deputies report 19 year old Carol Lynn Tracy of 325 Patterson Ave was found dead Sunday in her home with a single chest wound from a 12 gauge shotgun. A death by own action note lay beside her bed as Carl Prahm led deputies to the scene. A separate incident involved a Nokomis man charged with failure to stop after a collision on Albee Farm Road and U S 41 Bypass.

Man Arrested After Disorderly Incident With Car on Roberts Road

Parked car pilfered in Venice Flight Service theft
Police report a theft from a car parked between the Venice Flying Service office and hangars. Between 1 p.m. Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday items valued at about 350 dollars were stolen including a 200 dollar tool box, 90 dollar Jensen speakers bolted to the rear deck, a 16 dollar digital clock and a 15 dollar antenna booster. Joe Grace of 804 Harbor Dr reported the loss after leaving for Key West.

Theft at Honey Bear Health Foods reports $156 stolen
Police say Approximately $156 was taken from the cash drawer of Honey Bear Health Foods in Bird Bay Plaza. Clerk Michele Dendlar reported the theft as a 25-year-old black female described as slender to medium build, 5'6-5'8, wearing a bandana, short sleeve shirt, and faded jeans, grabbed the bills while the clerk bent down for change.
