Venice Incorporates Charlotte Harbor Plan Into Comprehensive Plan
The Charlotte Harbor Management Plan approved by the state last year was folded into Venice’s Comprehensive Plan. State officials required Charlotte Harbor area governments to study and blend plan elements into their comprehensive plans by this summer or risk state takeover of zoning and building matters. A state study found that strict zoning is vital to manage growth in a fast expanding and ecologically threatened harbor region.
