Sarasota County Commission was told plans to turn Warm Mineral Springs into an international health spa are canceled. Canadian-American Investments withdrew its rezoning application for 77 acres to allow a hotel and condo resort, citing infeasibility at low density 173 units versus needed about 512, plus rising interest rates. Sam Herron Jr. supported the withdrawal. earlier plans called for 710 housing units and an eight story hotel, reduced to 512 units and five stories amid opposition.
