Harbor Lights Mobile Park owner Herbert Hofmann faces trial August 18 in Sarasota County Court on a misdemeanor charge for failing to connect to Venice sewer. A second charge over travel trailers in the park has a September 3 plea date in county court. Hofmann, who has been under court orders and probation, cites nearly $500,000 needed for the hookup and has proposed city bonds to finance the project. He pleads not guilty and seeks a jury trial. The city declined to delay proceedings.
