Police union seeks higher pay and benefits in latest proposal
Patrol officers presented a third pay scale plan at a Tuesday session, seeking 10 percent more than Forbes plan with an estimated city cost of $39,928. Current pay range is $13,773 to $20,376. new plan would be $14,460 to $23,500. They trimmed requests for holidays, vacation, shift differential, and sick leave, while agreeing on grievance, no strike, dues, seniority, court and recall pay, exams, funeral leave, standby, overtime, protection, off duty work, contract amendments, study time, and education benefits.
