Venice plans restricts adult entertainment to few zones

Venice Planning Commission recommended passage of an ordinance restricting adult oriented businesses to Commercial Intensive zones. It bars minors under 17, limits proximity to churches schools and homes, caps number of venues, and allows grandfathered stores but any new similar shop must be in restricted zones.

Murder by Own Action Ends in Death of Man in Sarasota

In a case dating to Oct 29, 1979, John Wade died Dec 27 at East Manor Nursing Home Sarasota from post-traumatic brain syndrome after a gunshot wound to the head. The medical examiner ruled death a result of self-inflicted injuries amid the long, unusual pursuit and hospital stays following the shooting of Jack Rutkowski.
