County Rezoning Freeze Stands In Sarasota County
Sarasota County Commissioners refused to waive the two year mandatory rezoning freeze for two parcels annexed last spring. Back-to-back requests at the South County Courthouse Annex were denied unanimously, delaying rezonings to the Venice City Council. Commissioner Bob Anderson said speeding up requires clear public benefit, signaling potential legal action if challenged.
