Wayne Walker was arrested on battery and resisting arrest after a domestic dispute at 504 South Armada Road. Sharon Walker reported injuries including a bruise and scratches as Wayne tried to flee, was restrained, and later taken into custody.
Richard G. Reynolds 40 was charged with grand theft auto and assault after beating Julianne K. Hasbrouch 40 of Venice at Best Western Motel on the Bypass on Christmas Day. Hasbrouch, semi-conscious with cuts and bruises, was found by an ice machine and was given hospital care before Reynolds returned to retrieve the van and was detained by detectives who recovered the vehicle.

A dog was run over and abandoned. driver and dog owner details remained unclear. A Missouri tenant damaged items at Sea Horse Apartments. a half-day rent refund resolved part of the dispute. A spider plant was stolen from a Port Charlotte porch. A Nokomis man drew a pistol and fired in a Cabaret Lounge parking lot, wounding one woman. charges included concealed weapons and aggravated assault as bystanders restrained him and police recovered the gun. Treatments followed for minor injuries and head wounds.
