Denison Drive to be closed at Englewood Road by April

Denison Drive, labeled the county's most dangerous intersection, will be closed where it meets Englewood Road SR 775 between South Venice and Englewood by April. Sarasota County engineer Charlie Goode said bids will be advertised soon, with contract award in 30 to 40 days and project completion within 90 days. Closure requires FDOT authorization to widen Manasota Beach Road and install a traffic light at the adjacent intersection. The plan follows years of fatalities and crashes from vehicles merging onto Englewood Road.
