Manatee Junior College gets state approval for South County campus
The Sarasota County campus at Bumstead Corners on U S 41 north of North Port won legislative backing in April with 6.1 million for construction. Officials say the facility near Venice Englewood will be ready fall 1984, replacing the Brickyard Shopping Center site used since the mid 1970s, aided by Ralph Haben and a Republican backing of a penny sales tax.
