No agreement reached as Sarasota teacher wage talks stall
Round two of Sarasota County salary bargaining closed with the administration team calling the proposed pay raise for teachers out of the ballpark. The association offered to shave 1.5 percent from last week's 14 percent demand while noting many teachers would not gain a step increase. The district pledged to cost the proposal but warned the board remains firm on pay raises and urged caution over a broader settlement for both teachers and classified workers.
