Skate Port touts outdoor roller skating as everyone’s sport
Venice entrepreneur Jim Stone says outdoor roller skating is the third most popular sport after tennis and skiing. He opened Skate Port 16 months ago and expanded to Fort Myers in 1980, planning a Sarasota location this year. Stone rents, sells, repairs, and customizes skates and accessories, noting high calories burned and broad appeal across ages and incomes.
