Spring Art and Craft Show at Venice Shopping Plaza
The annual three day Spring Art and Craft Show opens Thursday April 6 at Venice Shopping Plaza on U.S. 41 Business. Open 10 am to 5 pm with over 40 artists from Sarasota County displaying watercolor pen and ink oil and other media plus demonstrations. Prizes include Merchants and Merchandize certificates with first second and third place in each category judged by George Rakovan Venice.

Sarasota members exhibit opens April show for 1977 78 season
The Sarasota Art Association presents its spring open show with one entry per member spanning portrait, sculpture, collage, abstract, landscape, realism, photography, crafts, drawing, print and still life. Moe Mitchell judges, awarding Best-of-Category ribbons. Exhibition runs April 9 to 27, hours vary by day.

Library program highlights Peru study for American Legion Auxiliary
Mrs. C. N. Stevens led a No Vel Unit 159 program on Peru as the year’s foreign relations topic. She and her husband lived six years in Peru and provided Peruvian doll dress materials. Proceeds fund CARE to rebuild about 400 classrooms, replacing nearly 7,000 casualties from the 1970 earthquake.
