Former Hawkeye man publishes poetry collection
Harry E. Brennecke, formerly of Hawkeye, now living in Los Angeles, has released a book of verse through Writers Notes and Quotes Fullerton publishers. Born in Iowa he is an Army Corps of Engineers estimator for the Los Angeles district. Brennecke’s poetry appears in newspapers magazines and anthologies across 15 states including a piece selected for analysis by Fuller ton instructor James Hines. He cites Robert Frost with a caveat on rhyme and says poetry is a basic form of communication guiding readers to the water rather than lecturing. He notes the joy of sharing writing and that editors and readers will judge.
