She had lived in West Union since 1934 and was a former acting Postmistress at Westgate. Survived by son Earl Ruthven seven grandchildren and sister Mrs Charles Howe Lawler.

A special Demonstration Auto Safety Inspection Caravan will tour Iowa from April 6 to June 6, visiting 25 cities for two days each. The Iowa Department of Public Safety will conduct free safety inspections, offering 24 tested items, an OK sticker, and optional repairs. Inspectors and local shops operate the lanes. motorists may visit for literature without inspection.
