I Go to France by Rail as a Doughboy Wife
The narrative follows a Arizona wife who disguises herself as a rookie soldier to join Pershing's forces. She cuts her hair, dons a khaki uniform, boards a train, survives close calls with officers, and smuggles herself onto a transport to France to care for the troops. Her dog Tuffy attempts to reveal her. Her husband urges her to return but she persists.
