A Sullivan Indiana post office clerk, Lawrence B. Hays, was arrested July 20 by inspectors from Chicago and Cincinnati on charges of opening registered letters. U.S. Commissioner Harrold bound him to Indianapolis federal court on a $500 bond. investigators traced missing mail to Sullivan and used a decoy registered letter to trap him.

Pleasantville Indiana notes the death of Dr S Y McClung a well known physician after a four year illness. He died Thursday at 2 30 pm aged 50 leaving a wife a son James of Pleasantville a daughter Mrs Amy Near of Terre Haute and a grandson Paul. He had practiced medicine in the area and earlier in Kansas and Missouri. He was a member of Mt Moriah church and expressed willingness to commit his spirit to God.
