Riverton Postmaster in Self Defense Killings Shock Town
Riverton postmaster Newton B Stough shot and killed Herbert McCammon Sunday during a family confrontation at the Stough residence. Stough said the shooting was in self defense after McCammon, a former Army sergeant and Sadie Stough’s former sweetheart, threatened the family with a double barreled shotgun. McCammon was fatally wounded. Stough was arrested and faces indictment after grand jury action.
