A free moving picture show titled A Reunited Republican Party will play at the Lyric theatre on Saturday afternoon and night under the direction of the Republican National and State Committees. The hour and a half program surveys Hughes and Fairbanks along with Roosevelt and Taft, including campaign quotes and scenes from across the United States.

Nesbit Sentenced to Prison for Larceny Theft
Robert Nesbit aged 38 pleaded guilty to larceny in circuit court. Judge Bridwell sentenced him to an indeterminate term of one to eight years in the state prison and fined ten dollars for stealing a steam pump valued at ten dollars from Wm. E. Johnson.

Slander suits settled in circuit court
Two damage suits brought by Dean Liddle of Shelburn against Lloyd Nash for alleged slander have been settled and dismissed by agreement of the parties. The plaintiff sought $5,000 in damages in each case.

Rev. T. H. Willis who lives east of Paxton was surprised by a large family dinner at his son Charles Willis's farm on his 10th birthday. Deserter from Army Arrested Near Dugger
Clyde Jefferies a 23 year old deserter from the United States army since April 4 was arrested at his father’s home south of Dugger by Town Marshal Frye. He had been stationed at Portland Missouri and escaped last April. army officers offered a reward for his apprehension. He was taken to Indianapolis Friday night by attorney Ernest A. Chapman and turned over to Fort Benjamin Harrison officers, where he was sentenced to the guard house for three months.

Court Rules Against Drainage Damage Claim
Judge Bridwell ruled in Haddon township that Hamet D. Hinkle cannot recover damages from the Prather drainage system. The court said damages must be sought before construction starts and refused to refer the matter to drainage commissioners after work was completed. The case drew several days of court attention.

Aged resident dies after pneumonia attack
Robert Canary, 73, longtime county native, died at home Tuesday afternoon after a short pneumonia illness. He once led M. I. church activities and belonged to the G. A. R. He served in Company I, 41st Ind Infantry. Funeral was Thursday at 10 a.m. at his residence, with Rev. Geo. Huff officiating. Survived by widow, two daughters Edith Canary and Mrs Coffman, a son Robert L. Canary Jr., two brothers John H. Canary and Will Canary, and sister Mrs Reuben Ransford.

Adelia Kelley, 82, widow of James Kelley, longtime Turman township resident, died last week after a long cancer illness. Born Adelia Ann Drake, daughter of Preston G. and Susan Drake, she married James Kelley on December 24, 1853. Survived by son Otis of Turman township and lawyer Gus Kelley of Chicago, with the husband. funeral and burial at Union Chapel.

Death of John Barbre of Farmersburg at 75
John Barbre aged 75 died Saturday night at his West Main Street home from heart failure. Funeral held at Central Christian Church at 2 PM Monday, interment at West Lawn Cemetery. Survived by widow, son the Rev Will Barbre of Sheridan Indiana, and daughter Mrs Charles Stanley of Farmersburg. Barbre had lived in Farmersburg many years and was injured two years ago when a shed collapsed on him.
