Mrs Elizabeth Riggs wife of the late Byron Riggs died Sunday at her Fairbanks township home from acute indigestion after months of poor health. Born in the county 65 years ago as Elizabeth Osborne she leaves eight children five of whom survive William Lansberry Charles Della and Florence Riggs all residents of Fairbanks township. A lifelong Methodist she and her family are connected to the Drake Baptist church where Rev William Yeaver conducted the funeral yesterday.

In Farmersburg on October 15 Squire Huntwork laments the loss of a sack of hazelnuts. Prominent locals Wes Forbes Marshal Charles Shepherd and others joined a hazelnutting expedition in Vigo County. Huntwork found his sack two thirds full then left it unattended. On return the sack was gone and Shepherd arrived with a coffee sack full of hazelnuts.
