Shelburn Young Man Killed In Mine Cage Accident
Charles M. Hall, 21, son of Commodore Hall, Shelburn, died instantly Monday afternoon when he fell from the cage at the Reliance mine while being hoisted with a mule. Funeral at parental home, burial at Little Flock cemetery. Survived by his parents and two sisters Mrs Lafflin Vanarsdall and Mrs C C Thralls.

Gilbert Maxwell Injured By Heavy Beam At Work
Gilbert Maxwell of this city was seriously hurt late yesterday afternoon when a one thousand pound steel beam fell at the Abell garage where he worked. The beam glanced off his head and shoulders, knocked him from a scaffold, leaving cuts on his head and body. He was unconscious but not believed to have fractures. Dr. E. M. Corbin attended him.

The funeral for Mrs. Fred Ellis who died Saturday in Colorado Springs will take place Thursday at 11 in the Baptist church here. Rev. S. L. Long will officiate and burial follows at Center Ridge cemetery.

Cass Township Man Found Dead In Bed
Andrew Vaught aged 41 was found dead in his bed at his home 112 miles southwest of Dugger on Thursday morning. County coroner Dr. J H Neff ruled death from heart failure. He is survived by his wife and seven children.

Petit Jurors Drawn for December Term Sullivan Circuit Court
The December term petit jurors for Sullivan circuit court were drawn and will report December 3 to hear the Peter Turner assault and battery to commit larceny case. Special judge Claude Gregg to preside. Turner and Moore were arrested near Farmersburg in August for attempted robbery of farmer John Zimmerman. Deputy Sheriff Brodie led the chase.

A Sullivan County October report shows Ed Dailey’s crew earned $5 124.76 for road drag work compared with $11 668.56 last October while the county’s October scarifying and grading total reached $10 296.33. District No 16 leader Bishop Walters tallied $883.33, edging Christopher Waidner by $308.68. John Lund in District 13 earned $471.00, with other contestants receiving $88 to $455. Total November county approval for free gravel road construction was $9 111.13.
