One of the beneficent results of the election was the defeat of J. W. Lindley of this city for prosecuting attorney of Sullivan and Greene counties. J. B. Filbert of Linton defeated Lindley carrying Greene county by 771 and losing Sullivan by 594 for a net 177 more than Lindley. The Union commends Sullivan county Democrats for aiding in Lindley’s defeat amid a larger Greene county Republican margin.

Edward Teufel the printer who fired a shotgun in his rooms on East Third Street earlier faced a warmer risk. He placed an electric light under the covers for warmth and woke to smoke flames and blistered feet. Col. Steve Belding helped contain the fire in the same building. Divorced Couple Remarries After Renewed Love
The Rev. J. B. Miller of Cumberland Presbyterian Church re married Frank Lathan and Catherine J. Lathan at the Cottage Hotel in Shelburn Indiana after they were divorced in Terre Haute. He tied the knot as they sought to reunite for their children. Lathan, 57, from Asbury North Carolina, and Catherine, 43, from Cambridge Ohio, were the couple.
