The program calls for a 1:30 pm assembly at the G A R hall with processions by school children W R C Daughters of Veterans and ex soldiers. CHAS WIBLE says he bought a John A. Mattix cultivator last season and declares it the best he ever saw. He notes it is the easiest to operate and allows more corn plowing per day than any walking cultivator.
The UNION thanks Mrs. Bonnie Steele for a cake box presented last week in honor of the birthdays of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Goins. Mr. Goins born May 7 and Mrs. Goins May 9, ages 59 and 53. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Gustin, E. O. Steele and wife, Dan and Frank Goins and their spouses, and several others.
Geo Alvey returns from California and contemplates moving his family to Denver Colorado. He recalls riding with the Carlisle crowd in March but never met them after their arrival due to being in another part of the state. He dislikes California but plans to take advantage of the Busseron water opportunity.

The Womans Relief Corps announces no grave decorations on May 30 in line with national orders. They set June 1 to decorate instead and urge the public to honor soldiers and sailors with flowers on the day, not on May 30, preserving the Grand Army of the Republic remembrance. A memorial sermon will be delivered at the M. E. church Sunday evening. The G A R will march in a body from the hall to the church. Hon Will Hays will deliver the Memorial day ovation at the M E church on May 30 afternoon. The G A R W R C and D of V will attend, and services will be held at Frank Neff's grave after reaching the cemetery.
Will Collins saw his Farmersburg home burn at about 10 o clock Saturday. The fire consumed all, including family clothing, with no insurance. Collins, a teamster in poor health, recently moved from a farm to Farmersburg. the house reportedly belonged to Mrs. Gaskins.
