The anti-saloon movement gains momentum in Hamilton Sullivan and Jackson townships as six of nine counties benches dry. Sarah Ellen Lambright born June 22 1848 Ohio died April 30 1907. She married Jacob Cumpson October 13 1868 and had three children two died in infancy one reached womanhood to comfort her during two years of affliction. She joined West Chester M E church Ohio then Zion church after moving to this state. A Christian life sustained two years of cancer suffering. Funeral by Rev Wallace Jasonville with interment at Antioch.

Enumeration shows county school roll rise to 9468

The county total enumerated students increases by 244 from last year reaching 9442 white and 26 colored children, for a grand total of 9468. Last year’s total was 9224.

The Trolley League featuring Clinton Terre Haute West Terre Haute Shelburn Sullivan and Casey in Illinois opened Sunday in fine style. Clinton Casey went 15 innings Sullivan beat Shelburn in 10 and Macksville topped Terre Haute 1 to 0. Attendance was strong at Casey and Shelburn with hundreds traveling from nearby towns.
