Jumbo Jim the Big Steer Dies at Lisman Farm
Jumbo Jim the world’s biggest steer died on Dr. W A Lisman’s farm west of Carlisle. He was 16 feet long and 3 000 pounds, 7 years old, 18 3 4 hands high. Lisman bought him as a calf in 1901. The steer appeared at the state fair and many county and street fairs. He was offered 2 500 for Jumbo Jim and could have fetched 10 000 at the World's Fair.

First Cement Block Building Erected in Sullivan
The new cold storage plant and bottling works of W. M. Draper will be Sullivan’s first building of cement blocks. Located on his lot east of the E. & T. H. tracks, the 35 by 40 foot cold storage section sits within a 40 by 90 foot facility. Buckley and Davia mold the cement blocks as Draper, who has run the bottling works for six years, expands his local business.

The remains of Mrs. T. A. Cox were brought for burial after a Monday arrival. Funeral held Wednesday at the residence of James Hert. Born in Kentucky February 22, 1850 she died in Florida April 15 after years of illness. She moved from Princeton last December with her husband and leaves three grown children Charles N. and William H. in California and Mrs. James H. Gilliland in Carlisle. She lived in Bloomfield 1889-1892 and 1895-1899 while her husband pastored the Christian church.
