A large gathering at Sullivan Chamber of Commerce HQ on Saturday planned a township wide organization to prevent hog cholera and protect local herds. Frank Mason elected president with Wm Mickey as VP and Ross Campbell as secretary treasurer, plus district captains named and more to be chosen. Interested farmers urged to attend next meeting.

WETs seek local option election in Cass Township
A petition filed Monday by the wets of Cass Township asks for a local option election. The petition will go to the Board of County Commissioners on the first Monday in April. The vote would decide liquor status as the township has been dry for nearly two years. The previous local option vote in 1914 favored dry by 28 votes amid sharp opposition.

Mrs Laura Maxwell Dies Suddenl y in Florida
Mrs Laura Maxwell widow of Edward Maxwell died suddenly Thursday in New Smyrna Florida while wintering as usual. She was 69 native of Ohio sister of Mrs J F Hoke and Mrs Goodman. Survived by sons Horace Maxwell of Cuba and French Maxwell of Puerto Rico. Interment at Center Ridge cemetery. The funeral was at the Methodist church conducted by Rev R H Toole.
