He was born June 29 1866 and served as agent for E and I in Sullivan and Washington before retirement. Funeral Monday at First Christian Church Washington with burial at Oak Grove cemetery. He was a member of Sullivan Masonic lodge and Jerusalem Chapter 81 R A M. He is survived by two daughters Miss Adelia Casto and Miss Anne Casto.

Farmers Hold Meeting in Sullivan County

Pioneering Sullivan Harness Maker Michael Kirkham Dies at 86
Michael Kirkham, a longtime Sullivan resident and Civil War era harness and saddlery craftsman, died Thursday at his home aged 86 after a stroke. Born January 18 1830 in Harrison County Indiana, he came to Sullivan in 1832 with his parents, married Mary Washington Carruthers in 1853, and celebrated 63 years of marriage. He trained fast horses, was active in politics as an early Republican, and survived by his widow and three children. Burial was at Center Ridge after services conducted by Rev. Albert Nichols.
