Douthitt Objects to Union Stand on Sullivan Franchise
W T Douthitt attorney for Indiana Coal Belt Traction Co writes to the Union urging publication of the full ordinance and arguing the board should grant a franchise only after proven intent to build. He contends opposition blocks interurban plans to connect Sullivan with Linton and mining towns, while the Union insists a 50 year grant is too generous and that the town should not be bound to one line.
