Mrs. Malissa Blackburn, 71, of the city east limits, is serving a 30 day jail term for contempt of court after refusing to be tried by jury in a hog killing case. Special judge W. R. Nesbit ordered the sentence. deputy Otha Brodie took her to jail. Blackburn has refused to eat since imprisonment and threw her breakfast on the floor. The hog killing case against her was continued to September term.
