The Sullivan Reduction Company formed by W. E. Johnson P. L. Combes and Fred B. Lash leased the old water works building on Busseron east of the city and began operations Monday. They own a large truck to haul dead animals countywide and the plant received state approval after this week’s inspection.

A joint memorial service for the Odd Fellows Knights of Pythias and Modern Woodmen drew a large crowd in Sullivan on Sunday. Charles Hartfelter led the parade to Center Ridge cemetery where speakers Hon Will H. Pigg, Hon Henry O. Smith, and Rev R H Toole addressed the gathering. The three orders combined for a strong turnout with about 0 Odd Fellows in line and roughly 70 Knights and Modern Woodmen members. Flowers covered the graves of deceased members after the speeches.

Henderson to hear conspiracy cases in July trial
