We Live At Home With Goods From Many States
A columnist argues that everyday household items in the American home originate from numerous states. He lists socks, shoes, pants, suspenders, water-dippers, washbasins, soap, towels, combs, cups, saucers, spoons, plates, cloths, ham, lard, soda, salt, molasses, napkins, chairs, tables, and more, pointing to a vast interstate economy. The piece ends with family routines and a jab about imports and a New England Bible printed in Massachusetts.

Pest warns Indiana farmers of Hessian fly surge and timing
Entomologist J Troop of Purdue University warns that Hessian flies may again devastate wheat as numbers rise. He outlines three defense steps: thorough soil prep, heavy fertilization, and late sowing to avoid the fall brood. Field conditions last fall favored late development of the fly.
