James Johns of Farmersburg and William Johns of Shelburn were jailed in Sullivan after sheriff deputies discovered a copper mash still with a 25 to 30 gallon capacity on Lucy Scott place in Fairbanks Township. The operation included a copper coil, a four burner stove, and nearby corn juice barrels. The two men were camping near the Wabash river and were later taken to jail while the gear was impounded.
