Chaney of Sullivan former congressman seeks options on Blue River lands near White Cloud for a proposed dam and waterpower plant to supply electric lighting and street railways in Louisville New Albany and Jeffersonville. He says he is not acting for the Interstate Public Service Company and has options in the names of Chaney and Samuel A. Tescher valid until January 1 1918.
James Barnett twenty one a resident of Herera was arrested by Marshal Bridwell on a Saturday and brought to this city. He pled guilty before Mayor Calvert to malicious trespass for starting a rough house at the Morris pool room in Hymera and was sentenced to six months at the penal farm and fined nineteen dollars thirty five cents.
Harry Duke 21 laborer and Jess ie G. Orr 20 both of Hymera receive marriage license. Savannah W. Sisk 38 miner and Nancy J. Eisner 18 paper hanger both of Shelburn obtain license.
Mrs Maude Harris of Denver Colorado has been in town several days on business and returned home Saturday.
Hard rain hit Sunday night as residents of Sullivan and nearby areas note slick roads. Families including Alsop and Bedwell mourn and update health, with baby born to Mr and Mrs Carl Bedwell. Earl Alsop and Harl Alsop appear in local visits and meals around Rose Chapel and Carlisle.
Barnett Jewell traveled to Farmersburg on business on Wednesday. Dudley Hayworth and family visited the Hayworths Sunday with the Hills. John May of Farmersburg called on Mrs. Harold Marts Thursday afternoon. Will Allen of Iowa and Amanda Allen of Farmersburg stayed Thursday night with the Hodgs.

News from San Bernardino California reports the death of Rev. James M. Watson at his home in San Bernardino age 82. A former pastor of Carlisle Methodist church he served in the Civil War with Indiana volunteers and spent decades in gospel ministry. Funeral services are set for 2 30 this afternoon at the First Presbyterian church with interment at Mountain View cemetery.
The holiday report shows county Red Cross Seals totaling 140.60 with a remaining balance of 2438.48 to fund a tuberculosis cottage after the county hospital completes. Farmersburg bought the most seals outside Sullivan, and Claude H. Crowder of Indianapolis, formerly of this city, was the largest individual purchaser.
Sullivan and Vigo counties in a joint Terre Haute meeting decided to issue bonds totaling 37 318 dollars to fund Prairie Creek drainage ditch construction affecting 800 acres in both counties. Vigo county will issue bonds for 94 percent of the cost, reflecting its greater benefit.

Captain Jack Crawford known as the Poet Scout is reported dying of pneumonia at Woodhaven New York in a telegram to Dr Frederick Nutt. He served as chief of scouts with General Custer during the massacre and aided in pursuing Sitting Bull. Born in Ireland in 1847 he later wrote plays stories and poems and appeared at the Merom chau tauqua.
