Aunt Lola Padgett, the county’s oldest woman, died Sunday at her daughter’s home in Turman township. Born April 2, 1814 in Virginia, she moved to Sullivan County with her parents. Survived by one sister and two children, she traveled to Kansas and Oregon for visits and spent her 90th birthday in Los Angeles. Funeral held Tuesday at Corinth church with Elder William O’Neal officiating. Interment at Buff cemetery.
