Prince Henry of Prussia arrived in New York to attend a reception in Congress halls. A 21 gun salute greeted the guest of the nation as a special naval squadron and city officials extended verbal welcomes amid cheering crowds during the prince’s visit.
The Prince and his suite were warmly received by Congress and diplomatic staff in the Capitol. A 2 pm audience with the diplomatic corps showcased regal uniforms and protocol, followed by a grand White House dinner hosted by President Roosevelt, drawing a distinguished crowd.

Marion Ind February 74 Fred Neff a 23 year old brakeman on the Clover Leaf railroad narrowly escaped death after being struck by an engine near Van Buren. He lives in Kokomo and is seriously injured in the accident.
Noblesville Ind Feb 21 seven horses burned to death in a barn owned by Elihu Estie of Wayne township the blaze destroyed much property and caused extensive damage authorities investigated the cause.
In Newcastle Indiana on February 21 Mr and Mrs Fansher’s infant died after children gave the baby laudanum during evening chores. The incident prompted local inquiries and a focus on household safety.

Miss Ellen M Stone the American missionary freed from brigands near Salonika arrived at Strumitza in Macedonia at 8 AM Sunday with Madame Tsilka and her baby both released and in good health. Stone informed local authorities on arrival.

In Anderson Indiana on February 24 Raymond Peele age 10 and Merton Peele age 8 sons of Mr and Mrs J W Peele of Summitville were badly burned when a natural gas explosion blew them through a bathroom window. Both boys un dressed and burned over much of their bodies. Physicians fear they cannot survive.
La Porte Indiana February twenty four report Miss Tryon of Union Mills in La Porte county lost twenty seven thousand dollars to forgeries tied to the Nebraska bank owned by the Gould brothers. County losses from the bank failure total about one hundred thousand dollars, roughly half of the entire sum.
Benjamin Hutchinson in Marion Indiana attempted to kill himself in the county jail with morphine after being sentenced for embezzlement. His life was saved, though he remains in serious condition. He wrote a letter to his father stating the act was with full determination to end his life.
Mathew Humphrey, 19, son of Ennis Humphrey, Traveling Engineer for the Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern, was fatally struck yesterday by a freight car in the Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern yards in Washington Indiana. He fell after sipping from the top of a car during switch work.
In Vincennes Indiana February 24 crooked and loaded dice are offered as evidence in the Davis gambling case. Witnesses say Tyler and Kelly used the dice to win money from Bank Cashier Richard C. Davis whose wife sues to recover nearly 240000. Other gamblers testify Davis bragged of crooked throws and warned he could seven roll seven times. Judge Cobb orders night sessions this week.
Mary Ann Smith aged 70 a native of the county was killed by a Monon passenger train near her home six miles north of New Albany. Her skull was fractured and her legs and arms broken. She lived alone and was returning from a relative’s home across the track.
Noblesville Indiana February 25 The Wm Mohler murder case was called for trial in the circuit court yesterday. One hundred fifty witnesses have been summoned and the case is expected to occupy the court for a week or longer. Mohler pleads not guilty on self defense grounds.
Vigo county coroner reports E K Hagerman of Seelyeville died from gunfire while an attack on an interurban car occurred at the height of the street railway strike. The shooter remains unknown.
In Charlestown Indiana on February 25 a four year old girl, daughter of James Cole Nobbs, died in an accidental burn. The father Nobbs was severely injured while trying to rescue her from the blaze at Nobbs Station.
In Hagerstown Indiana on February 24, Harry Day aged 20 a telephone lineman fell from a carload of poles and struck his head on a rail. He died six hours later.
Charle Jackson former circulation manager of the Daily Courier in Erransville Ind died after taking an overdose of ammonia by mistake. The incident occurred on February 22. Officials say the dose was accidental and under investigation by local authorities.

Port Warne Indiana February 21 2 year old son of D H Henninger drowned after slipping into a vessel filled with hot water.
