Only immediate relatives and a few intimate friends will witness. Mrs M D Crawley and Miss Margaret Crawley of Chicago traveled to attend. Mrs Crawley is Miss Williams sister.

John Cuddy French 25 a soldier at Camp Zachary Taylor and Ju dah Gambill 20 daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Gambill of this city wed Saturday afternoon at the Gambill home on West Washington street. Rev John McD Horne officiated. French served 3 years in the regular army with active service on the Mexican border. The bride teaches at the Marlow school east of town.
Three robbers tried to overpower the sheriff during a jail delivery, seeking to escape. No details on injuries or outcome provided.
Miss Lucile Thornberry a bookkeeper in this city and Enders a bookkeeper in Terre Haute’s First National bank were married there Saturday afternoon by Rev. E Daughety. The bride, niece of Mrs. Gordon of this city, is the daughter of D W Thornberry of Indianapolis. The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs John Enders of Pimento.
Four convicted robbers and forger led a rush to the jail door during a prisoner transfer eight o clock Friday night. Melvin Wolfenberg Tony Sager Frank Sager and Ray Combes attempted to overpower officers. Sheriff Hale struck Combes with a mace and jailed guards restrained the group as they staggered.
William T. Mellett the county food administrator announced a circular from Dr. Harry E. Barnard state food commissioner restricting flour sales. Individuals may buy one pound per week with a city limit of five pounds and a country limit of twelve pounds.
Rev. Peter C Cauble, a well known Christian church minister, died last week in Bloomington Indiana. He pastored Christian churches in this county for years and formerly lived at Carlisle. He also served as trustee of Haddon township.
Mrs Amanda Evans aged 84 widow of John Evans and a Sullivan pioneer died at her southeast Sullivan home Yesterday morning She was a longtime member of the Christian church The funeral will be Thursday afternoon at the home of Richard Bailey conducted by Rev John McD Horne pastor of the Christian church Burial plans were noted but details remain incomplete
Paul Near, suing through lawyer Walter F. Wood, asks for heart balm of 5000 dollars from his wife Lydia Near's parents Lewis and Ida Hamilton in Knox circuit court. He alleges undue influence and cites separated marriage from March 3, 1917 to November 4, 1917 and the birth of a nine month old child. He claims the parents caused his wife to file for divorce on January 8, 1918 and accuses them of spreading false tales and blocking access.

He married Helen Thomas and has son Will Hays Jr. He belonged to multiple clubs and fraternal orders.
Col R F Knotés returned last week from a trip to Springfield Missouri where he visited his daughter Mrs Sam Eslinger. He said the trip was enjoyable despite real winter weather encountered in Springfield and Indiana.
Saturday Sheriff Hale took John and Arthur Pitts to the state Penal Farm near Greencastle to serve three to five months. The men were arrested for breaking into the Shiloh church in Cass township where they started a fire in the stove and made themselves at home.
Lieutenant S B Coulson former resident of this city now with the U S Medical Reserve Corps has been reassigned from Fort Oglethorpe Georgia to Camp Sevier South Carolina to serve as a base hospital surgeon His wife and child residing in Waldron Indiana will join him there

Indianapolis February 19 The Public Service Commission received a complaint from 12 residents along the Terre Haute Indianapolis and Eastern Traction line between Terre Haute and Sullivan asking the company to maintain more cars a clean larger Terre Haute station a regular schedule and elimination of long delays.
