Death in Ohio Train Accident Kills George Gibbs
A. P. Gibbs returned from Foster Ohio after his father George Gibbs was killed January 26 by a locomotive at a railroad crossing. The 77 year old, a Washington County resident and veteran, was struck as his wagon tried to cross a fast freight train. The wagon was torn apart and Gibbs was impaled on the cowcatcher. He died instantly. Burial took place at Salem.
