The race for the Democratic nomination sees Charles II Bedwell exit, leaving David N. Curry as the sole candidate for representative. Filing closes Saturday with no new entrants likely, and party sentiments point to Republican gains amid voter desire for reform and fewer costly laws.
Union Christian College graduate Jacob E. Meeker of St. Louis has filed for divorce from Maude Larr Meeker in the circuit court. Both are Merom natives and alumni. they married fifteen years ago.
Manager Bogue of the Sullivan County Water Company denies a Terre Haute report that the pumping station is inundated and the Sullivan water supply cut off. He cites river stages at Riverton and safety measures, notes rainfall totals of 3.9 inches in the county, and reports minor flood damage along Busseron Creek and adjacent bottoms.

Jones Jr. and other heirs.
Mary Sherman of Sullivan County died Saturday morning at the Central Hospital for the Insane in Indianapolis. Railsback learned of the death by telegram and could not locate any relatives. Records show she was once at the county infirmary, first admitted to the Indianapolis asylum in 1880, released, readmitted, and finally admitted again in 1889. P. R. Jenkins was circuit court clerk and Charles F. Briggs was the examining physician.
Roy Drennan the county recorder was badly mashed in the foot when a heavy table toppled while he was sawing the legs from it. He was working solo in a workshop when the accident happened last Wednesday afternoon.
