He says he will send bond money once he can obtain it and will not testify further. Hopkins, 23, had been staying at the New National Hotel and employed at the hotel and local Bell Telephone office.

Otto Hoesman of Merom was fined 50.40 by Squire Kirkham on charges of operating a gambling house and two gambling counts. He runs a soft drink stand, pool hall, and shooting gallery at Meron. James Akers, a nearby farmer, filed the cases after losses at Hoesman’s place. Hoesman pleaded guilty and paid the fines.
