Miner Incident Ends in Razor Attack at Gilmore
Two coal miners from Gilmore, Taylor Edmonson and Marion Fate, were involved in a violent confrontation last Friday afternoon when Edmonson attacked Fate with a razor and severed Fate's nose. Edmonson, a boarder with the Fate family, had a history of intoxication and trouble at the house, and Fate had asked him to stay away during intoxicated spells.

Miner Ferd Cochran Killed in Dugger Mine Train Accident
Ferd Cochran a 24 year old miner and mule driver at the Dugger mine died Friday afternoon when a loaded car train jumped the track and crushed him. He left a wife and no children, and his death followed a string of family railroad tragedies including uncles and relatives killed in accidents. Work halted at the mines Saturday in mourning.

Bert Neal died Tuesday morning of consumption at his mother Mrs. Charles Burton's home. He was about 26 years old and was a son of the late John Neal a longtime harness maker for M. Kirkham. Bert served as a soldier in the Philippines.
